Okay, just as a meaningless sort of aside…why is it that all of the foods that make you feel better when you are sick, are so full of fat and sugar and crap?
I mean…orange juice, for instance. Loaded with sugars! Natural ones, yes, but still sugars, and the effect on my blood sugar and calorie count is the same. Chicken soup – tons of fat and salt. Hot cocoa…enough said. (I know, you can make that diet, but it isn’t the same.)
Why is comfort food so bad for you? Unfair, I think. There is NOTHING appealing about fresh veggies and lean meats when you are sick. Now, I could handle some whole wheat toast with fat free margarine, I guess…that would be all right. And I do have some Healthy Choice chicken soup, though it’s not quite as good, but I guess it might work.
Just meandering. I really wanna curl up with a hot water bottle, a gallon of orange juice, and another gallon of nice salty, fatty chicken soup while I fight off this whatever-it-is…
