Well, I’m not going to attempt to detail how my weekend went, because frankly it was crazy. However, I think I did very well. I did not eat on schedule, and I didn’t have a lot of opportunity for formal exercise, but I did stay within calories and ate mostly healthy stuff. I had a great workout Saturday night despite having been on my feet at work for 10 hours and being in excruciating pain from the waist down – it was the first day of That Week too. When I left work, I honestly thought it was going to be all I could do to get into the house and collapse.
I thought about doing yoga; that always limbers me up and I thought the stretching might feel good. But that just seemed too strenuous. So I took a hot bath and some Ibuprofen, hoping that would help. After a while, it did…and I thought, well, I could do some upper body work, that wouldn’t be too bad. So I pulled out my Biggest Loser strength workout, which I haven’t touched in (mumble mumble) months, even though my Game Plan called for me to be already doing it again regularly. I thought, what the heck, I’ll do a little.
I ended up doing it all, even the lower body stuff, and working really hard. Then, thinking I should go with the momentum while I had it, I jumped on the treadmill and did 30 minutes. Mostly at 3.0 – 3.5, and very little incline, but still, I got on. I am incredibly proud of that, given how I felt and how brutal the day was.
Sunday was a good day too; I didn’t work out, but I ate well and I was on the move a lot at work, so since this is supposed to be my rest day I actually was pretty much on pace.
So overall, I am very pleased with the weekend. I am back to my normal routine today and have all my food here, so I think it’ll be a good day.
