Okay…just nosing around, I have noticed that a very common search term that leads people to my blog is “Do Stresstabs work?”  So I thought I would answer that question, at least from my perspective:

In my experience, yes, they work.  Of course it depends on what you are taking them for.  Do they eliminate your stress?  Um, no.  You might want to look at Xanax or something similar, or perhaps a frontal lobotomy.  Otherwise, the stress is here to stay.

BUT – do they improve your energy, mental focus, immune system strength and ability to DEAL in a healthy manner with stress?  Absolutely.  At least, they have for me.

I know that my healthy lifestyle – healthy eating and exercise – play a big part in all of the above.  But I can definitively state that when I do not take my Stresstabs regularly, I see a marked increase in fatigue, irritability, and lack of mental clarity.  When I do take them daily, my energy levels are better, my mental acuity is increased, and I am far less likely to contract whatever illness my two kids and myriad co-workers are peddling that week.  The reasons for this can easily be researched by Googling B vitamins and their mechanism, but the bottom line is this:

For me, yes, Stresstabs absolutely work.  And they’re not even paying me to say that.  Though, you know, if they want to that’s cool too.    🙂

I highly recommend that you at least try them.

Today, so far, I have supported my healthy lifestyle by:

1. Packing and bringing my healthy meals and snacks

2. Walking at lunch for about half an hour, getting both some gentle cardio and some much-needed sunlight!

3. Drunk about half my daily allotment of water.

Haven’t hit the spot exercises the way I need to, I was late getting here and have to leave early. Not good…maybe I can squeeze in some time on the Ab Lounge tonight to make up for it, after work. I will be tired tomorrow though…have to think about that one.

Stats, 10/31/07

Weigh in day again…no measurements this time…but I am Happy Girl!

Breakdown:

Starting:  180.5

Week One:  176

Week Two:  174.5

Week Three:  172

Week Four:   173

Week Five (this week):  169!

So in five weeks, I have lost 11.5 pounds.  That may not sound like a lot to some people…but it is really excellent.

On a more somber note, I also measured my body fat and I am at 35%.  Ugh.  Definitely need to keep up the cardio and the strength training.  But I planned on doing that anyway!

Happy Halloween!  It’s going to be a wonderful day.

I am feeling very good, it was weigh in day today and I’m quite pleased with the results.  Also, the weather is gorgeous and it’s payday; can’t beat that.

Today I am going to focus very intently upon drinking my water – I was short yesterday – and leaving the leftover Halloween candy alone.  The way the people in this office eat it, I think it’ll be gone soon anyway, so I only have a day or two of torture.  But I’m feeling really strong so I think I’ll be all right.  I’m also going to have to hit the spot workouts HARD this afternoon, as I was over an hour late coming in this morning due to a trip to the car dealership, so I am very behind.  But I will try to get in at least five sets, I should be able to do that.

I work tonight, so no treadmill, but I plan to walk a little at lunch (errands to run) and I will try to make the spot workouts intense.

I’m wearing a super uncomfortable shirt though…it’s very fitted and I love the way it looks, but trying to do my spot exercises in it is not going to be fun.  I may take it off, but then if someone walks into the bathroom without knocking (happens now and then) I think I would have to just die of embarrassment.  Try explaining THAT one!  So I don’t know.  I’ll figure something out though.  At least today isn’t resistance band day, so there’s not a ton of armwork, and I think I can manage my wall-ups in it.  Oh well.

It’s going to be a great day.

Summary, 10/30/07

Not a bad day.  A little sketchy in the evening – trick or treat SUCKS when you’re trying to be healthy – but I think I did okay with it.  The cake was bad but I know exactly why – sugar definitely does make you crave more sugar.  I did, however, put the brakes on very quickly, and I had a high-protein snack later on to keep my blood sugar from bottoming out badly.  (It sort of did during my workout, toward the end.)

But it was okay.  I had a fantastic workout; used hand weights most of the time so my calorie burn is probably higher than what the treadmill computer reflected, and I felt really worked after it.  It’s been a long time since I was not only covered in sweat but shaking from head to toe after a workout (not from weakness but because my muscles were so tired).  It felt really good.

Overall, not a bad day at all.  I’ll take it.  🙂
